Welcome to Day 3:
What Helpful Tax Content Actually Looks Like
By the end of today's lesson, you'll know how to create content that makes taxpayers feel understood, makes complex problems easier to understand, and gives them confidence to take the next step.
Helpful Content Must Create
More Than Information.
Before you publish another tax tip, ask whether the content helps a taxpayer feel understood, understand the problem, and believe there is a clear path forward.
DOES THE TAXPAYER FEEL UNDERSTOOD?
Show that you understand the financial and emotional reality behind the problem—not only the technical tax issue.
DO THEY UNDERSTAND THE PROBLEM?
Explain one issue, process, deadline, or decision in clear language an ordinary taxpayer can follow.
DO THEY BELIEVE THE NEXT STEP?
Use proof, examples, case studies, or clear guidance to make the solution and your firm's role believable.
Don't just inform taxpayers.
Make them feel ready to act.
Use empathy to lower resistance, clarity to reduce confusion, and proof to make the next step believable.
Turn One Tax Question
Into Two Useful Posts.
Choose one question your ideal taxpayer regularly asks and create these two pieces:
THE EXPLAINER
Answer the question in plain language. Begin with the concern or confusion behind it, then make the next step easier to understand.
THE PROOF
Show how your firm has helped with a similar problem using a case study, result, testimonial, or properly redacted example.
TEACH THE PROBLEM CLEARLY.
PROVE THE SOLUTION CREDIBLY.
